Editor’s Compass In this issue‘s Voice of Experience column we have the second part of the inspiring feature responding to a reader’s question about animal communicators being omnivore or vegetarian. It has been enlightening and heartwarming to “digest” all the thoughtful responses animal communicators have given in this two-part article about their choices and revelations on what/who to eat. With the answers from many animal communicators to the question, we have given a thorough, multi-faceted, and expansive coverage of the subject. It is clear that individuals have different relationships to food and what nourishes their bodies. With the help of these intelligent answers from so many points of view, this article is something animal communicators or others can offer people who wish to question and ponder dietary choices. Beleaguered bats voice their distress in response to the second question in Voice of Experience about a disease devastating their population. Our Guest Feature writer, Barbara Janelle, gives us a lot to think about in her article about species time perception and invites us to discuss our experiences and perceptions about “time.” What’s the Buzz? focuses on efforts to save thousands of dolphins in Japan and one well-known captive Orca (killer whale) in Florida, ending with news about a captivating song in a healing project for the ocean. Featured in the Furry Heart Club section is a story about how to allow mosquitoes to feed their brood (by drinking our blood) and have no painful itching welt to show for it. Susan Eirich of Earthfire Wildlife Sanctuary shares her enchantment with wild essence. Jennifer Parks writes about the impact of dolphins in her life in a form that accentuates her rich sentiments. BrightHaven holistic animal sanctuary and hospice graces Sanctuary Spotlight with touching tales of the circle of life in elder and disabled animal resident care. Featured Animal Communicator, Lynn McKenzie, shares how early encouragement of psychic development and extensive training in healing practices have built her unique approach to animal communication work. The Reviews section ranges over books about animal communication adventures to a novel about a dolphin teaching scientists the big truths, and whimsical CDs and a DVD with cats and dogs singing holiday songs. Inspirations brings us two calls to wake up with Mother Nature. The second featured poem is penned by my sister, Joan Schulze, poet and artist residing in Sunnyvale, California. |
